About this calculator

This calculator finds the arithmetic mean of a list of numbers — add every value together, then divide by how many values there are. Alongside the mean it also reports the count and the sum, since those two numbers are what the average is actually built from.

Teachers use it to average grades, sports fans use it for batting averages or points per game, and anyone working with a spreadsheet uses it to sanity-check a quick set of figures without opening Excel. It accepts any list of numbers separated by commas, spaces or new lines, so pasted data works as-is.
