ISO 3166-1 is the international standard that assigns every country a two-letter (alpha-2, e.g. TR) and three-letter (alpha-3, e.g. TUR) code, used as the backbone of country fields across the internet — from browser locale strings and phone country dialing codes to database country columns and address forms.

This lookup takes an alpha-2 or alpha-3 code and returns the matching country name. Software developers use it while debugging datasets or APIs that return raw ISO codes instead of readable names, and data analysts use it when cleaning spreadsheets, CRM exports, or shipping records that store countries as codes rather than full names.
