About this calculator

This calculator takes a cube's edge length and computes its volume (edge³), surface area (6 × edge²), and space diagonal — the line running corner to corner through the interior — using edge × √3.

It's used for sizing anything cube-shaped in the real world: figuring out how much a cubic storage box, shipping crate, or tank can hold, how much material or wrapping covers its six faces, and whether an item will fit diagonally inside a cube-shaped space, which is often the limiting dimension when packing an oddly shaped object. It's also a standard geometry exercise for students learning 3D solids before moving on to more complex shapes.
