About this calculator
General hydration guidelines suggest around 2.7 liters (91 oz) a day for women and 3.7 liters (125 oz) for men from all sources combined — not just plain water, but coffee, tea, juice, soup and the water content of food all count toward the total, since the body doesn't distinguish where fluid comes from. Caffeinated drinks were once thought to be dehydrating, but current research shows moderate caffeine intake still contributes net positive fluid.
People managing kidney stones, pregnancy, athletic training or a doctor-recommended fluid target use a running tally like this to check they're actually hitting a daily goal, since it's easy to underestimate how little plain water you drink when most of your intake comes from coffee, tea and meals.
This calculator lets you enter your intake from several sources — water, coffee, tea and other drinks — and adds them up to your total daily fluid intake.
