This calculator estimates a comfortable and an “ideal” heel height range based on your foot length, using guideline ratios drawn from footwear-comfort research on how heel rise shifts weight distribution toward the forefoot and changes ankle angle. Longer feet generally tolerate a slightly greater absolute heel rise comfortably than shorter feet before pressure on the metatarsal heads (the ball of the foot) becomes excessive.

Shoe shoppers deciding how high a heel they can wear comfortably for a full day, and footwear designers sizing a last use this as a starting reference point — but it produces a general guideline estimate, not a medical or podiatric assessment, since actual comfort also depends on arch support, shoe fit, walking surface, and individual foot anatomy that a length-only formula can't capture.
