About this calculator

In Texas Hold'em, your outs are the number of unseen cards that would improve your hand to a likely winner — for example, needing one of nine remaining hearts to complete a flush. Converting outs into an actual probability of hitting depends on how many cards are left to come: with two cards left to see (after the flop), the exact odds differ from having just one card left (after the turn), because the number of unseen cards in the deck shrinks.

This calculator takes your number of outs and current street and returns the exact probability of hitting your hand, alongside the well-known rule of 2 and 4 — the mental-math shortcut of multiplying outs by 4 on the flop or by 2 on the turn to quickly estimate that same probability at the table. It's a core tool for poker players studying pot odds and equity calculations away from the table, where there's time to check the precise numbers behind the shortcut they use when actually playing.
