About this calculator

Selling on Amazon involves multiple layered fees that eat into revenue before you see a profit. Every sale sits in a category assigned a referral fee — a percentage of the total sale price, typically ranging from around 8% to 15% depending on the product category — and Amazon keeps this cut no matter who fulfills the order. Sellers who use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) add a further fulfillment fee per unit, based on the item’s weight and size tier, covering the pick-pack-ship-and-customer-service work Amazon performs on the seller’s behalf.

On top of these per-order charges, sellers choose between an Individual plan billed per item sold or a Professional plan billed as a flat monthly subscription, plus optional costs like storage fees, advertising spend, and returns processing. This calculator combines your product cost, sale price, referral fee, fulfillment fee, and subscription or overhead inputs to show the true net profit and margin per unit — the number that actually matters once Amazon has taken its share, not the sticker price of the sale.
