About this calculator

Every major airport (and many cities as a whole) has a unique three-letter IATA code assigned by the International Air Transport Association — LHR for London Heathrow, JFK for New York, NRT for Tokyo Narita — used on tickets, baggage tags, and flight-booking systems worldwide instead of full airport names. Some codes represent a specific airport while metro-area codes can represent a whole city served by multiple airports.

This converter looks up a city's primary IATA code, or resolves a code back to its city, across roughly 50 of the busiest hubs globally. It's a quick reference for travelers booking flights, travel agents, and anyone working with airline data or booking systems, where recognizing or entering the right three-letter code — rather than a full airport name — is often required.
