About this calculator

A gas fee is the cost of executing a transaction on a blockchain network like Ethereum, paid to the network's validators for the computational work of processing and confirming it. The fee is calculated as Gas Units × Gas Price, where gas units measure how much computational effort the transaction requires (a simple transfer uses less than a complex smart-contract interaction) and gas price is set in gwei, a fractional unit of the network's native token, and fluctuates with network congestion.

Every crypto user interacting with Ethereum and similar networks pays gas fees, and they can spike dramatically during periods of high demand, making it worth checking before submitting a transaction. This calculator takes the gas units required, the gas price in gwei, and the token's current price and converts the fee into both the network's native token and its dollar equivalent.
