About this calculator

A cumulative GPA combines every term a student has completed into one overall average, which means adding a new term doesn't simply average with the old GPA — it has to be weighted by how many credit hours each part represents. A strong new term with fewer credit hours moves the cumulative average less than the same GPA earned over a heavier course load.

This calculator takes your existing cumulative GPA and credit hours together with this term's GPA and credit hours, and combines them into your new overall cumulative GPA. It's a standard tool for students checking their academic standing after finals, tracking progress toward a scholarship or honors threshold, or simply seeing how much a single term can move the needle on their overall record.
