About this calculator

This tool averages a student's entered course grades and checks the result against the Turkish Ministry of National Education's (MEB) thresholds for end-of-year recognition: a yearly average of 85 or above earns a High Honor certificate (Takdir Belgesi), and 70 or above earns an Honor certificate (Teşekkür Belgesi). It also reports exactly how many points separate the student from the next tier, so a student sitting at 83 can see they need just two more average points to reach Takdir.

It is used by middle and high school students and parents in Turkey at the end of each term, when report cards list individual course grades but families still have to do the averaging and threshold-checking themselves. Teachers and school counselors also use quick calculations like this to explain to students how a single low grade can pull the yearly average below a certificate cutoff, and how much a grade needs to improve to fix it.
